Works if you don’t mind pulling your hair out

Construction wise this is a great product. It’s well made and feels good in the hand. The hinge is solid and the two halves open and close smoothly. The cord is a decent length. The whole thing is nice to hold and use from a mechanical perspective. The heat setting and control is well designed.

As for how well it works for us, well that’s a completely different story. With long fine hair it needs to be DRAGGED and tugged, the pads seem to grab a hold of the hair making it super difficult to use. It ends up pulling a lot of hair and causing damage. In fact it seems to work far better to curl than to straighten hair but even then performance was mediocre. I know that it’s being promoted as using new copper ceramic pads but these things seem to do exactly the opposite of what they were intended to do, glide across hair. My wife has a titanium straightener which cost $30 more but there’s a $200 difference in performance.

My wife has made it clear that this will be the straightener that she takes traveling, no big loss if it gets lost.

For us, the cost makes this a not so great buy.
