JETech 2.4G Wireless Keyboard for Windows 8 / 7 / Vista / XP (Black) – 2160

So close to being a great product

EDIT: What keyboard manufacturer would omit putting all of the F buttons on its product? I was just installing a fresh copy of Windows Server and when booting up the machine waiting to select the boot options, lookie… there’s no F12 button to select the boot option! They could have doubled up some of the other keys but to omit these very important function keys is unforgivable! I dropped my ratting from 4 stars to 2. While the keyboard is still decent I can’t forgive such a blatant error.

Nice sized keyboard. Light weight and because of where the batteries are located it has a nice tilt to it making it easier to use without needing to extend any feet at the rear like typical keyboards. Travel distance on the keys is good and they “feel” solid enough. The reason I’m not giving this 5 stars is simply because the 2.4 gig device needs its own dongle, it simply will NOT work with any of the other half dozen 2.4 gig dongles I have that came with various mice I use. The kicker is that all of the mice will work with any of the dongles. So in order to use this keyboard and a wireless mouse at the same time you will need to use two dongles/USB slots instead of one!

Some people have noted that they used tape in the middle of the bottom to reduce bounce, mine came with a small tab moulded into the bottom which eliminated and flex in the middle where the space bar is. JETech must have been reading the reviews and made a simple change in the manufacturing process, I like it when organizations respond to end user suggestions, another reason I gave it 4 stars instead of just three.
