Viva Naturals Krill Oil – 100% Pure Antarctic Krill Oil
Viva Naturals Krill Oil – 100% Pure Antarctic Krill Oil, 1250 milligram/serving
Works but there are better alternatives that cause less harm to the oceans
I have a major problem with this product. Krill are very close to the bottom of the ladder in the oceans food chain. That said, they also feed some of the oceans largest mammals, blue whales. These creatures have enough going against them, we don’t need to be gobbling up their food source while some nations also permit killing them. It’s not just the whales, many creatures depend on these little crustaceans and the oceans where krill get harvested are delicate enough so why would we work on destroying this very delicate ecosystem?
I won’t go into any details about the various ailments that omega-3s are taken for, there is plenty of information online that you can access and provides far greater detail than I could present here.
I know that there’s been much said about how krill oil is better than fish oil for people looking to get omega-3 fatty acids but when facts are tallied this has yet to be substantiated. On the surface, if krill oil is compared to low end fish oil then yes, it is better but when comparing to high end well processed fish oils the facts simply prove that krill oil isn’t better for you.
Take these two items, that krill are a major food source for many aquatic creatures in a delicate ecosystem and that the omega-3 which is derived from them isn’t better than properly processed fish oil why would anyone use it? There are plenty of fish harvested from the oceans that provide a very dependable source of omega-3.
Many people complain about fish burps when taking fish oil. This is common with low end products. When using a quality product this seldom happens.
Personally I’ve been using Metagenics- OmegaGenics EPA-DHA 720- 240 softgels ( Metagenics- OmegaGenics EPA-DHA 720- 240 softgels ) for the last two years and can attest to how well the product works. If you’re thinking about using fish oil or aren’t happy with the brand you’re using, I would recommend giving OmegaGenics a trial. It’s not the cheapest but quality products never are and why put cheap crap in your body.
