More than I was expecting in the way of audio quality at this price point

I’m continually amazed at how good headsets sound these days. When I get any new headset I always try then out with the equalizer set flat, just to get an understanding of how the drivers are tuned. Many are set up for the one of the three major portions of the audio frequencies we hear. I was surprised that the response here was even right from deepest bass to highest highs that I can distinguish. With any kind of an audio product how it sounds is a very personal thing. I can only tell you how I enjoyed this headset and what it sounded like for me. You’ll probably have a different experience but this is what equalizers were made for and in most cases making a few tweaks on an equalizer will produce a more pleasing result for virtually anybody.

I heard no distortion when cranked up and when running at lower levels I can still easily distinguish the background instruments that fill out music and make it an immersive experience.

I like the look and feel as well. The three sizes of gel allow for a snug fit in ear which is what provides the deep bass. The ear buds themselves are very light and don’t feel uncomfortable even after extended periods of wearing them.

The control box located where the left and right cables split is easy to use. The raised + and – buttons for volume control and centre pause/play button can easily be located just by feeling for them which makes it easy to use without me having to look at it. I like having the control box located where it is. I have other headsets where the control is on the right hand ear bud cable and this always caused the cable to flop around which can get annoying while working. Only downside of this is that the mic is located on the back side so the control needs to be exposed in order for it to pick up my voice on phone calls. I’ve also been told that people can hear it brushing up against my shirt while I move.

The volume and play/pause buttons work with both my Android and iPhone.

If I could ask the manufacturer for one thing it would be to make the cord about a foot longer, this would make it easier to thread through my jacket and not get tugged on. The cable itself is rather stiff which is good, it doesn’t tangle as easily.

Overall they provide far better audio quality than I was expecting for a sub $100 headset.
